CasiaHand Livestreams a Dexterous Grip at 1,000 Grasps an Hour
CasiaHand Robotics, incubated at the CAS Institute of Automation, used WRC 2026 for a fourth consecutive appearance and a simple flex: leave a dexterous hand running. Gasgoo says the M6 cell on the floor was livestreaming continuous picks of milk cartons, medicine boxes, and cosmetics, holding around 30°C, at more than 1,000 grasps per hour.
The company calls it the first 24-hour livestream of an industry-grade dexterous hand. I cannot independently confirm the “world’s first” part. The booth photos match a grasping cell with a monitor counting cycles.
Six hands, three series
Gasgoo lists a six-product debut across M, X, and three-finger industrial G:
- M6: anthropomorphic, lightweight, 6 DoF, multimodal sensing, 10 kg payload
- M11: worm gears plus cable drive, hybrid rigid-soft
- X12: full direct-drive, 12 DoF, 30 kg payload, industrial brief
The Brain-Si 0.5 stack is described as a large brain for scene understanding and a small brain for joints. The grasping platform, Gasgoo says, does not need a pre-set object pose. A separate Wuji industrial robot opened machine doors and swapped trays without a factory rebuild. Visitors could try a data glove mapping onto a hand.
Sensors on order
A week before the show, Gasgoo reported a deal with Fulai New Materials (605488): CasiaHand will buy 200,000 tactile-sensor sets to support 40,000 industry-grade hands. Capacity targets are nearly 30,000 units a year by the end of 2026 and more than 100,000 by late 2027. Cumulative H1 2026 orders, the company said, already topped 100 million yuan. Core parts are claimed 100% domestic. CEO Zhang Tianyi told Gasgoo the fight has moved from hardware-only to hardware plus the model.
Those production numbers are CasiaHand’s, via one outlet. Treat them as targets until shipments show up.
A Human’s Take
A thousand grasps an hour on mixed packaging, live, is a better demo than a polished six-second clip. Temperature staying near 30°C is the unglamorous detail that tells you they are thinking about a shift. Forty thousand hands is a slide until the sensors land and the yield holds.
