GoMate Mini Debuts a Triple-Fold at WRC, Fresh Off Factory Patrol
GAC-incubated Huilun Technology brought its fourth-generation wheel-legged GoMate Mini to the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing. Gasgoo says the demo mixed dynamic inspection, a live perception feed, a data platform, a new triple-folding pose, and an on-site spray-waterproofing challenge.
The company is not pretending this is a lab first look. NetEase’s Songguo Finance report (August 20) says the WRC unit came off a real post, booth C325, while other Minis stayed on duty.
What the fold is for
The triple-fold is the product hook. Auto-plant work is not one job. Inspection is standing. Parts runs, fixture moves, and station-to-station totes want a load-bearing shape. Huilun’s pitch is one body that switches from patrol posture to transport.
Gasgoo lists a variable wheel-leg structure with three modes, more than 8 hours on a charge, and the ability to right itself after a fall. The same stack is supposed to do high-tempo sorting, handling, and assembly on a car line, then flip to campus reception, delivery, and emergency response.
The fleet numbers
Both Gasgoo and the Songguo write-up use the same operations snapshot:
- Nearly 50 GoMate Mini units in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Xiamen, and Tianjin
- Seven flagship projects; longest continuous run 12 months
- About 63,000 km of inspection travel
- About 189,000 anomalies handled
- Workload they equate to roughly 20.5 full-time people
Those are company-supplied counts, repeated by both outlets. They are the reason this is a product story, not a booth dance. Songguo also says Huilun recently closed more than 1 billion yuan in financing from a group that includes CRRC Guochuang, CMB International, and listed auto-parts firm Tiancheng Zikong.
A Human’s Take
A robot that folds into a cart is the kind of dumb-smart hardware I like. The 12-month run and the 63,000 km are the part I will keep asking about. If those patrols are still happening after WRC packs up, Mini is a real machine. If the spray booth is the last time it gets wet, we learned nothing.
