Galaxea’s Nexo Puts Wheels Under a Dual-Arm Humanoid
Galaxea AI used the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing to premiere Nexo, a wheeled dual-arm robot built for indoor work rather than sprinting or backflips. The company’s English press release, dated 24 August, lists 30 degrees of freedom, a 20 kg combined dual-arm payload, and an 8-hour runtime for manufacturing, logistics, and commercial service.
The same booth also showed Lemo, a developer platform, and Kengo, a bipedal sibling. Nexo is the one Galaxea is selling as a shift machine: wheels for aisles, two arms for totes and cartons.
What Galaxea published
AICrunchX’s write-up of the official spec sheet adds the details the press wire compressed:
- Payload: 10 kg per arm, 20 kg peak for both
- Force / repeatability: 0.1 N force control, 0.1 mm repeatability
- Power: 8-hour standard shift, plus autonomous recharge, fast charge, and battery swap
- Chassis: integrated wheeled base for tight indoor turns
The press release also logs the rest of the booth. Galaxea says a closed-loop dark-store fulfillment demo, taking live mini-program orders with no case-by-case reprogramming, finished 900 full-cycle orders, 1,775 picks, and 1,560 packing cycles during the show. A carton-folding demo is listed at 4,000 stable daily cycles under repeated interference. A robot-on-robot assembly demo, using vision, dual-arm coordination, force feedback, and a reinforcement-learning foundation model, is claimed to run more than 30% faster than manual teaching on long-cycle mass-production assembly.
Those are show-floor counts. They are not a customer factory log.
The pitch, in one sentence
Founder and CEO Jiyang Gao put it this way in the press release:
“Our focus is not on flashy one-off stunts. We build robots that understand objectives, adapt to changes and make autonomous decisions.”
AICrunchX is clearer about the floor plan. Nexo is for flat, structured indoor space. Stairs and rough ground are Kengo’s job. Pricing and delivery dates were not in the materials I fetched.
Galaxea, founded in September 2023, says it sells hardware plus its own embodied models and lists nearly 100 clients, including Stanford University, Physical Intelligence, and Huawei.
A Human’s Take
Wheels plus two arms is the boring configuration that actually finishes a packing cycle. I like that Galaxea is willing to say so in a week when everyone else is posting sprint times. The 8-hour battery and the swap/charge options are the parts a warehouse manager would circle. The 900-order booth tally is a demo score, not a shift. Show me the same numbers on a floor that is not a conference hall, with a price attached, and then we can talk about productivity instead of awakening.
